Halloween ain't for kids anymore (or "mommy who is that scary lady?")

By risking everything including my reputation, I hope to bring a joyous diversion to your day!

I love Halloween. I mostly love the sweets. I wouldn’t actually say that I celebrate it as much as having it be a celebration…which may look like the same thing. I Googled “Celebration” and came up with “any joyous diversion” and Halloween is totally that for me! Going to places and seeing costume contests is really one of my favorite things to do. Dressing up…not so much! One year, I dressed as a woman…an ugly woman at that ;). I forgot where I parked my car and my heels were killing me. I took off the heals and walked so much on the pavement that my footed pantyhose broke and they flopped around on the top of my feet as I walked…like a floppysock that ripped but you had the tube part pulled up. Pretty gross looking I’m sure. My favorite times are going to costume contests and watching others put up with getting around, getting a drink, sweating it all off, etc. By the end of the night, you look like a hot mess and nobody can distinguish what you started the night as. “I’m an angry cat!” one woman yells out at 2:15am last year. Earlier that night she had told me that she was a Baywatch Babe. Just freaky I tell ya! But I’m going to share one of my pics with you that I don’t often pull out of the woodworks…simply because it could ruin me…but it’s Halloween. And who doesn’t need a joyous diversion these days?!

So only look at this next picture if you aren’t easily scared.  And remember, laughing at yourself is the first step to getting through the difficult times.  This certainly is opening up the floodgates on laughing at myself!  Enjoy (and remember I warned you!)

In defense of Independence

Independence or Inter-Dependence…don't let it fool you kid!

Friendship & Trust

Independence is a crazy thing. I love inter-dependence also…but independence gets my vote every time. There is a certain joy that comes from your creation of something to it's fulfillment in life. I'd say that my vice, though, is independence, used to justify why i didn't produce results. It means well…independence does. It calls to you like all things are possible through him…but it's tricky. You need others in some way, shape or form to make your thing happen and/or become real in life. So you need them. Which makes you sort of interdependent really and not independent at all. So which is it going to be?? Working independently for the sake of others, which is really interdependency. Or working with others until you can work alone. Either way, I'd say independence is my vice. I'm in love with it. And I can't do anything without others in my life. It always reminds me of that. So I don't know if I could quit…ever. But I sure try some times.

I Should Know…

I love business. I love seeing what makes business tick. Entrepenuers really inspire me. What it takes to make a business succeed and thrive, no matter what the economic climate, is something to admire. There are so many books out there that tell you what to do, how to do it, why you should do it and how often. Lather. Rinse. Repeat. If only it was that easy to make it happen. What is the difference between those that CAN and those that DO? Is it really a matter of doing the right things or is it something else?

Any business person worth their weight will tell you it’s probably a combination of all of these things. I want to explore this. I am going to look at different ways we are making it work. Some of it will be specific to this economic climate and will have applications as such. A vast majority of it I want to explore will be applicable to any climate.

What if the success of your business was NOT based on the economy. What if your ability to get a good job had NOTHING to do with the job market?

I’m not saying it’s the truth…but we have to start there. We are all given the right to be happy and successful in this life. Don’t you think it’s about time you had that? Well alright.

I’m going to recommend books and blogs and ideas. I’m also going to recommend courses and classes. You don’t have to do anything I recommend. But if you WANT something different in your life…you are going to have to DO something different. More importantly you are going to have to BE someone you’ve never been before.

I also encourage your feedback and progress as we go along. I’m not really interested in your opinion if you aren’t going to do what I recommend. Posting comments just to argue or be right about how hopeless it all is will get you nowhere and and will only keep what you got. There are other blogs for that. This one isn’t it. So here’s to a bright future…

A Book on Quitting that Everyone Should Read

Seth Godin is one of the most forward thinking business people on the planet. I”m proud to recommend this book!

This book is about the places in life where we experience a dip. Whether you are experiencing a dip in producing results in life or a dip in living a life that you love….this book addresses it. It’s a profound idea on how to get yourself out of that dip.

My White Trash Five-Ingredient Recipe

To make your Britney Spears, White Trash Dessert, is mostly in the attitude. While you are mixing the ingredients, you are judging white trash. As you mix the soft ice cream sandwiches, you think to yourself, “yeah…only white trash people eat these!” As you mix the Cool Whip and ButterFinger Candy Bars, you think to yourself, “omg…what piece of trash would combine these things?!” And finally, as you pour the hard shell over the top of the mixed ingredients, in your finest tupperware or glass casserole dish, you think to yourself, “I AM that person and THIS is a masterpiece!” (And this is really good by the way!)

Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwiches
Have it be a little soft, like white trash morals, before you are ready to combine the ingredients.

Butterfinger Candy Bars
Crunch them up really good inside their own packaging…you basically want chunky pieces of ButterFinger bars. Just think of all the times you’ve wanted to beat someone…this is your chance to take out your anger here.

Cool Whip
Or some kind of whipped cream…doesn’t matter how you say it! Whip or “HWhip”

Hard Shell Ice Cream Coating
Pick your favorite flavor…it’ll all work out in the end.

Tupperware or Casserole Bowl
How you present this is really important! Glass bottom casserole dishes make the best presentation!

If you do it right…you are entitled to one of these babies!

I and I alone…

The first post is the hardest…let’s just get that out of the way right now!  This is my personal blog.  What I put here is my own business and has nothing to do with whomever I may work for at the time.  The opinions expressed in this blog are mine and mine alone.  They have nothing to do with anyone else.  I and I alone am responsible for its content.  So now that we got that out of the way, lets share shall we…
